Life happens. Back in February of 2024 I was going to give you info on the preambles of each state's constitution. Obviously I did NOT do that. I may focus on the motto of each state soon, but, as I apologize for the time lapse, I'd like to share a verse of scripture that interests me today. It is Isaiah 9:6.
For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace (CSB)
What does this mean for US? Does this only apply to Heaven, where Jesus is already seated on a throne, or is there an application for His family today, here on this Earth?
Well, MY thoughts are that God IS government... the SUPREME JUDGE OF ALL THINGS, and that Jesus came to Earth to allow us to become part of God's family AND His government. Because of the redemption that was required by Mosaic Law, Jesus died, and went into Hell. While there He took back the keys to death and Hell from the devil, and returned to Heaven with those keys when He walked out of that tomb! God's righteousness was restored because of all that Jesus did!!
Technically, on that amazing day, the glory of God was restored ~ back to the Garden of Eden! (That is, before Satan had a chance to ruin perfection for the rest of Creation.) Hence, the government of God was also restored that day. IF God desires righteousness, then He does NOT desire EVIL in any area of our lives. Jesus paid for that reality. So, IF we see evil in our government, that means that God would NOT WANT IT!! IF He would not want it, do you think He might want us to oppose it? IF He would want us to oppose it, would we need to be part of any area that needs to be made right or righteous? And IF that area is our government... federal, state or local... would God want us to be part of it ~ and to speak out for what HE has told us in His Word is right? I THINK SO!
We know that God hates murder, so ~ as His Family ~ should we not be actively opposing abortion? In order to do this, some of us must be involved in government, where we will be standing for God and ~ with His help ~ making a difference regarding the murder of children.
Do we think God hates the drugs that destroy minds, kill teens and support those who hate Him and His Creation? I think YES! If we are to oppose the abuse of drugs, should we not be part of the government that is able to create legislation that does just that?
If our judges, our council members, our congressmen, our governors are standing for things that oppose God and His Word, should we NOT BE PART OF OPPOSING THEM AND THEIR UNGODLY DESIRES?
GOD IS GOVERNMENT! He is the ultimate Judge! Jesus is prophesied to have the government on His shoulders. Do you think He might want His family members to be part of the group that is His mouthpiece, His hands, His feet on this Earth that belongs to His Father?
Expecting to SIT on those hands, PROP UP those feet and let God's enemy lie through our mouthpiece is NOT what God would want from HIS FAMILY!!! Yet that is just what MOST of the Body of Christ is doing! We have been lazy and disobedient children, doing what we WANT to do, NOT WHAT HE NEEDS US TO DO!
God already rescued us through Jesus. Everything that needed to be done has already been done! Jesus paid it all, and then He gave us authority in HIS name to overcome the "snake" that messed up humanity in the first place! When we believe the lies he tells us about the separation of church and state, we stand in agreement with God's enemy, and when Israel did that in the Old Testament, they paid a very high price... some never saw the land that God had promised, and many died because they listened to... and worshipped... the false gods that God's enemy set up in opposition to God.
Time to WISE UP! God wants righteousness... God's enemy wants evil. We MUST be actively fighting evil in EVERY area of our society... IF WE DO NOT, WE ARE NOT STANDING WITH GOD. Even if we do "nothing," we have already done something... NOT standing FOR something, means we are standing against it by default...
SO... as God's children we MUST stand with our Heavenly Father and oppose the evil we see trying to take over our nation. THAT MEANS GETTING OUT TO VOTE ~ FOR THOSE WHO STAND AGAINST EVIL ~ WHO STAND FOR WHAT'S RIGHT ACCORDING TO GOD'S STANDARDS. I don't know about you, but I do NOT want to be silent as evil takes over this nation that God has blessed.
God's "Chosen People" allowed that centuries ago, so they could fit in with their society. God let them be captured and enslaved by the nations they wanted to emulate. They served their evil gods and suffered the consequences.
I don't want ANY part of God's family to side with God's enemy... EVER! LET'S WAKE UP and do what is right!! GET OUT AND VOTE FOR ALL THAT GOD WOULD WANT. We truly are His hands, His feet and His mouthpiece. Let's ask God what He wants for our nation and then DO IT!
