Are you used to having the son rise every morning, even if it is behind some clouds? Are you sure that gravity will keep you on the ground
as you walk from the parking lot to your job… that you will not drift into space like a lost balloon? Can you trust that the air you breathe will not, of itself, turn into something other than the chemical combination necessary to sustain your life?
If so, you are trusting in the goodness and the love of God. He is our Creator and our Sustainer. What He set into motion stays in motion because He keeps it running… and He keeps it running because He love you. You may refuse to believe in His existence. You may refuse to acknowledge His creativity. You may blame Him for losses in your life. You may blame him for the messes that you’ve created. But, despite all that, God loves you.
His Word, the Bible, says it best . Romans 5:8 says, “But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” The word “sin” is an old archer’s term for missing the mark, or the bull’s-eye, in the very center of the target. I don’t know about you, but I miss the mark all the time. It’s because of this reality in the life of every human that God came to earth AS a human to do what we could never do… overcome sin. He loved us that much. He loves us that much.
What Jesus paid on the cross of Calvary was the price for all the times that you and I have missed, and will continue to miss, the mark. In the midst of everything He did, He loved us. In the midst of everything you’re doing today, He loves you and wants a relationship with you. You can’t find a better friend or Father or Saviour… and He’s so very much more!
His love and forgiveness are waiting… just for you. Don’t pass up the best offer of love you will ever have! Just tell Him you love Him back… He’ll do the rest!
